Judith Heidebrink, MD

Judy Heidebrink, MD, MS, is a Professor of Neurology and the Richard and Katherine O’Connor Research Professor of Alzheimer’s Disease at the University of Michigan. She received her medical degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School and completed her Neurology Residency, Geriatric Neurology fellowship, and master’s degree in Clinical Research Design and Statistical Analysis at the University of Michigan. She evaluates and treats patients in the University of Michigan Cognitive Disorders Clinic and serves as its director. Dr. Heidebrink co-leads the Clinical Core of the Michigan Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center. She has more than 25 years of experience in collaborative, multicenter clinical trials aimed at preventing and treating Alzheimer’s disease.

Steve MacDonald, MD
Site Co-PI

Dr. Steven MacDonald attended medical school at Michigan State University’s College of Human Medicine. From there, he completed his neurology residency and then a fellowship in Behavioral Neurology at the Cleveland Clinic. Dr. MacDonald is currently a Clinical Assistant Professor and dementia specialist at the University of Michigan Cognitive Disorders Clinic. He is an early career clinical trialist and the Co-Principal Investigator for the University of Michigan ACTC site.

Jaimie Ziolkowski
Site Liaison

Jaimie Ziolkowski, MA, CCRP is the Alzheimer’s Disease Project Manager at the University of Michigan, Department of Neurology Clinical Trials Organization (NeCTO). She joined the Alzheimer’s clinical trials team, led by Judith Heidebrink, MD, MS, after completing a Master in Clinical Psychology degree from the University of Detroit Mercy in 2015. Jaimie provides site-level oversight for all Alzheimer’s clinical trials in NeCTO and acts as a liaison for AD trial partnerships. She provides training and mentorship for study team members and is the lead neuropsychological rater for AD research in NeCTO.
