Suzanne Craft, PhD

Dr. Suzanne Craft received her Ph.D. from the University of Texas at Austin, and then completed fellowships at Boston University and Harvard Medical School. She is Professor of Medicine at Wake Forest School of Medicine, and Founding Director of the National Institute on Aging (NIA)-funded Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center. Dr. Craft has served as a member of the Alzheimer’s Association Medical and Scientific Advisory Group, the NIA Board of Scientific Counselors, and the Executive Committee of the national Alzheimer’s Clinical Trial Consortium. Dr. Craft’s research program investigates the role of metabolic disorders in the development of Alzheimer’s disease, through translational studies and innovative clinical trials of pharmacologic and dietary intervention to treat or prevent Alzheimer’s disease. She has received a National Institute of Health MERIT award for overall research excellence. She led a ground-breaking multi-site trial of intranasal insulin for the treatment of Alzheimer’s disease that was funded by the National Alzheimer’s Project Act, and is currently investigating the ketogenic diet as a therapeutic intervention for persons with mild cognitive impairment. She has received a prestigious Zenith award from the Alzheimer’s Association, and a Part The Cloud award from the Association for an ongoing innovative trial of combination therapy for Alzheimer’s disease using agents that promote healthy metabolism and immune function.

Karen Gagnon

Karen Gagnon an IMPACT-AD alumna (Class of 2022). She is a SoCRA-certified Clinical Research Professional (CCRP) and currently serves as Clinical Research Manager at the Wake Forest University Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center (ADRC). Karen holds a Master of Arts in Human Clinical Neuropsychology and brings extensive expertise in operational leadership and research coordination. Her work focuses on building and mentoring high-performing research coordination teams, developing multi-site Clinical Research Coordinator training initiatives to standardize best practices across networks, and advancing recruitment strategies for special populations of interest in Alzheimer’s disease clinical trials. Through her leadership, Karen is driving innovation in clinical trial operations and contributing to the advancement of Alzheimer’s research.

Felecia Bennett-Giles, MS
Community Engagement Specialist
Feleica Bennett-Giles, MS is an energetic and passionate Program Manager III/Outreach Specialist for the Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, NC. Felecia loves to learn and educate others in her church, community and during presentations both large and small. As she continues to do all she can to help find a cure for Alzheimer's Disease, she is building relationships and gaining the trust and support of the community she loves and serves. Felecia is quoted as saying: Treat EVERYDAY like it is your last because one day, it will be.
