Allan Levey, MD, PhD

Dr. Allan Levey is the Robert W. Woodruff Professor and Director of the Goizueta Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center and the Goizueta Institute at Emory University. Dr. Levey received a BS from the University of Michigan and an MD and PhD (Immunology) from the University of Chicago. He trained in Neurology at Johns Hopkins, and joined their faculty prior to moving to Emory in 1991. He chaired the Emory Department of Neurology from 2003-2021, leading it to be among the top NIH funded research departments with a major expansion of the faculty and the clinical and educational programs. Dr. Levey is a neurologist and neuroscientist internationally recognized for his work in Alzheimer’s disease and related neurodegenerative disorders, investigating disease mechanisms and translation to new therapeutic strategies and biomarkers. He leads multi-institutional teams in NIH translational programs, including Accelerating Medicine Partnership for Alzheimer’s Disease and the TREAT-AD consortia, and he is a steering committee member for other AD clinical trials groups. He has received numerous awards and is a member of the National Academy of Medicine.
Chadwick Hales, MD, PhD

Chad Hales is an Associate Professor in the Department of Neurology at Emory University School of Medicine. He is Georgia born, raised, and educated, having attended the University of Georgia for a B.S. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, the Medical College of Georgia for his M.D., and Ph.D., and finally, Emory University in Atlanta for medicine internship, neurology residency, and behavioral neurology and neuropsychiatry fellowship. He has an active basic science research laboratory studying cellular mechanisms of neurodegeneration, serves as investigator/sub-investigator for clinical research trials, both for Alzheimer’s disease and frontotemporal dementia, and is a member of the Goizueta Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center clinical core. He is the central MAC core lead for the Georgia Memory Net, a state funded collaborative program with Emory to establish memory assessment clinics throughout the state of Georgia. He is the Clinical Director of the Emory Cognitive Neurology Program and currently exploring new models of assessment, including opportunities with the new personalized medicine institute at the Emory Brain Health Center. He is passionate about educating the next generation of physicians and scientists through teaching and supporting research efforts through the American Academy of Neurology Research Programs Subcommittee.
Casie Lyon

Casie Lyon is an Associate Director of Research Projects at Emory University's Goizueta Alzheimer's Disease Research Center (GADRC). She leads the GADRC's Clinical Trials team and oversees the clinical trials process from start-up to closeout. She has been in this role with the GADRC since April 2022. Casie graduated from Emory University in 2001 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and has been employed in various research positions at Emory since that time.
