Personal Statment Being a part of an organization that has the ability to drive and to move the field forward on the cutting edge is extremely rewarding. I have an MD and a PhD, which means I not only take care of patients, but I also am at the cutting edge of finding cures for diseases like Alzheimer's. Patient care really boils down to bedside manner, which I believe comes from your life experiences. The art of being a doctor is being able to reach out to folks across the spectrum of what it is to be human. Being a physician and having the freedom to care for patients one-on-one is remarkably rewarding.
